Raw Necessity is an Irish owned raw dog food brand created by sisters Zoe & Nikita who have been working together on it since 2019. Nikita specialises in canine nutrition and brings 10 years’ experience in the pet industry. Nikita has formulated the recipes for Raw Necessity centering on the canine species, with strong focus on dogs that have various intolerances and sensitivities. Her experience in nutrition throughout her career has been key to producing a nutritionally balanced raw food that cuts no corners. With Brexit, there was a huge loss to the Irish market as UK based raw brands could no longer deliver into Ireland. In a country where our choices are so limited, when it comes to raw dog food, Raw Necessity aimed to differentiate itself and bring a new option to the Irish market. How you may ask;
Well we have looked at this with the eye of the customer. And no – that’s not you but the end customer. Your dog. We wanted to ensure to give them the right balance of nutrients, so they get everything they need – and in a way they want. Dinner time should be exciting everyday! Our minces are a ‘chunkier’ texture. We use a large mincer blade so that our mince remains fluffy and chunky rather than a ‘slushy’ texture. The end product has been favored by many fussy dogs throughout Ireland.
Our mixes are veg-free and run on the 80/10/10 ratio. We also offer veg-free single sourced protein options such as Turkey Complete which uses turkey offal rather than the standard beef offal generally found in other completes. We pride ourselves on sourcing the highest quality cuts of Irish meat.
Our products are produced by the only licensed manufacturer in Ireland and are traceable from farm to bowl. The products are also lab tested per batch before dispatching from the factory to ensure bacteria levels are within the guidelines of the department of agriculture, which is surprisingly rare in the raw dog food world and something pet owners are unaware of. Our goal is to produce top quality raw dog food that you can trust and your dog can thrive on.
